Seven Years of Love, Honor, and Covering

The GLAM Cancer Initiative, a program of the Cherisse Stephens Foundation, Inc., is celebrating its seventh year. This year's theme honors women and girls who are thrivers: those who have faced cancer and continue to live, lead, and inspire.

Founded by Cherisse Stephens, CEO of the Cherisse Stephens Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the GLAM Cancer Initiative was created to remind women and girls touched by cancer that they are seen, loved, and never alone. G.L.A.M. stands for God's Love and Mercy, and that message is at the heart of every gift, visit, and celebration.

Over the past seven years, the initiative has been blessed to honor many women. Some are still thriving and surviving today. Others have transitioned, and the foundation continues to honor their legacies and the lives they touched.

Expanding Borders and Territory

In its seventh year, the GLAM Cancer Initiative has expanded its borders and territory. The foundation now partners with hospitals and community organizations in Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama to bless patients undergoing cancer treatment, bringing its mission of encouragement and support to more women, girls, and families.

Celebrating Our 2026 GLAM Thrivers

This year, the GLAM Cancer Initiative is proudly celebrating its 2026 GLAM Thrivers, women and girls of every age whose courage and faith inspire us all. Among them is Nova Bella-Rose Stafford from Alabama. At just seven years old, Nova has courageously faced cancer three times. She was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma at only five months old, and in 2026 she was diagnosed again with osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer. After 18 rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and a limb-sparing surgery that replaced her right femur and knee, Nova rang the bell on September 30, 2026, after 263 days of treatment in Memphis. On October 13, 2026, her scans showed no evidence of disease. Each of our thrivers carries a story of strength, and together they remind us that every woman and girl facing cancer deserves to know she is covered.

Why We Honor Women

The foundation's passion is simple: no woman should walk through cancer alone. The GLAM Cancer Initiative exists to let women know there are people who have them covered, and that together we cover, support, love on, and uplift one another.

"Seven years ago, we set out to make sure women facing cancer knew they were not alone," said Cherisse Stephens, founder of the GLAM Cancer Initiative and CEO of the Cherisse Stephens Foundation, Inc. "This year, we celebrate our thrivers, we honor the legacies of those who have transitioned, and we are reaching new communities. We have them covered, and we invite others to help us cover even more women and girls."

Sponsorship Through Partnership

The GLAM Cancer Initiative welcomes sponsorship through partnership all year long. Organizations, businesses, churches and individuals are invited to join the mission and help bless women and girls impacted by cancer.
